NewGarage respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect personal data in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Data we collect
Account details (name, email, phone), business information, vehicle listings and photos, dealership location, and technical browsing data (cookies, IP address, device and pages visited).
2. Lawful bases and purposes
We process data to perform our contract with you (creating and hosting your public page and listings), for legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention and product improvement), with consent (marketing and non-essential cookies), and to meet legal obligations.
3. Sharing your data
We never sell personal data. We use essential processors only (hosting, database, email delivery, payments and DVLA/vehicle data providers) and disclose data to authorities where legally required.
4. International transfers
Where data leaves the UK, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Addendum with appropriate safeguards.
5. Retention
We keep data while your account is active and for as long as legally required (for example six years for tax records). After that, data is deleted or anonymised.
6. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection and to withdraw consent. Contact privacy@newgarage.app. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
7. Security
We use encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access control, per-account data isolation and continuous monitoring.
